Meet Al Kanbar – Founder of Silver Spoon

With over two decades of experience in hospitality, franchising, and business consulting, Al Kanbar is the driving force behind Silver Spoon. A former leader with major brands like Yum Group, Starbucks, RBI, and Johnny Rockets, Al has combined big-brand expertise with a passion for helping small and mid-sized businesses thrive.

Since launching Silver Spoon in 2018 with the support of StartUP FIU, Al has worked with a wide range of clients; from first-time coffee shop owners and restaurant operators to multi-unit retail businesses and franchise developers. His hands-on, results-driven approach has helped businesses increase profitability by 5–7% in under 90 days, streamline their operations, and build scalable, resilient systems.

Al is also a licensed commercial real estate advisor and an active member of several business organizations, including local Chambers of Commerce and the Strive305 initiative. He regularly speaks at regional expos and business panels, and holds an expert seat in university accelerator programs that support underrepresented founders in the food and retail sectors.
